Community

EDF Renewables Australia is committed to open and transparent engagement, building on the positive example and established relationships developed by Malabar Resources in the Upper Hunter Valley.

We are passionate about the sustainable development of renewable energy projects and collaborating with local communities. Our initial engagement plans include meeting neighbours and other local stakeholders to introduce our team and the project. Our ongoing engagement and approach to the project will be informed by these initial conversations.

The Edderton Solar Project and BESS Scoping Report has now been uploaded by the Department on the NSW Major Projects Portal, and is available at this link

Community Benefits Fund

EDF Renewables Australia aims to develop a community fund from the start of construction and through the Solar PV farm’s operational life. The fund will provide financial support for community-based initiatives and projects that produce lasting community benefits and reflect local priorities.

The CCC will advise how these funds are distributed to ensure maximum community benefits. Initiatives could include:

Contributing to the Local Economy

EDF Renewables Australia is committed to maximising the opportunities and benefits for the local community. This means jobs for locals, opportunities for local contractors and service providers, and investment in the communities in which we operate.

We will provide support for community-based initiatives and projects that produce lasting community benefits and reflect local priorities. The nature and distribution of this support will be informed by genuine engagement with local stakeholders.
